Another round of “peace talks” offered to Putin. But is Ukraine walking into a trap while Russia keeps bombing and the West's support is long in coming?
Zelensky is not "extend[ing] an olive branch." He knows there is no possibility of making "peace" with Russia, and that Russia wants lots and lots more war. What he's doing is building a solid imagine of Ukraine as reasonable, cooperative, and peace-oriented. All to contrast with Russians as duplicitous violent marauders. He's not "begging for a ceasefire" because he knows it can't happen, he doesn't need it, and a ceasefire would actually harm Ukraine.
Who is "winning" right now isn't only a matter of square kilometers and lives lost. Germany invaded in June of 1941. By the end of that year they had killed 4.5 million soldiers, taken territory right to the outskirts of Moscow, and destroyed mind-boggling numbers of Soviet tanks and planes. "Clearly winning," they were...
Im sorry. Why should Russia, a country, who is clearly winning a war, stop because a bunch of losers 'the Ukrainians' who are losing said war, are begging for a cease fire?
I get it Im talking to the French who are the biggest losers of the 20th Century, but seriously I dont understand how is this so hard?
At the rate Russia is burning through troops, equipment, and credibility, the idea that it’s “clearly winning” the war is detached from reality.
Russia has lost over a million soldiers killed or wounded, is leaning on North Korean missiles and Iranian drones, and is conscripting prisoners and migrants to fill the ranks. This isn’t a show of strength — it’s a sign of desperation.
As for the economy, Monday’s Russian headlines paint a grim picture: a plunging ruble, rising inflation, and growing public discontent. But in a country where the media has been neutered and dissent criminalized, the root causes — a disastrous war of choice, terminal corruption, and failed leadership — rarely make it into print.
Russia may capture territory, but it’s losing its future. What we’re witnessing is a state in slow-motion decay, not a superpower in command.
Saying Russia is "clearly winning" the war in Ukraine doesn't really hold up when you look at the facts.
Russia thought it could take Kyiv in a few days back in 2022. That completely failed. Since then, the war has turned into a drawn-out, bloody mess with no real end in sight. Russia has taken some territory, but it's come at a massive cost. A garden snail would have reached Poland by this time.
They have over 1 million casualties (killed and wounded), their economy is struggling, and they're turning to North Korea and Iran for weapons. That doesn't look like a confident, clearly winning superpower.
Only an idiot think that an army of less than 200 thousand men could take a city of 3 million people in a few days. Which Kiev was, why dont you just cite the Ghost of Kiev while your at it. Thats about as believable as your knowledge.
Go learn some basic military history and then come back and make an intelligent argument.
The Russians dont have a million casualties. The Ukrainians do. The Russians according to Mediazone have about 150k dead. A lot for westerners, but not really for Russia. But I only have been published multiiple times on the Eastern Front in WW2.
I bet your on your 8th booster at this time as well.
No. I think your an idiot who spends his time getting his info from other idiots who dont know a thing about warfare.
Putin thought he could pull off another 5 Days War with a limited campaign that would force Ukraine to the negotiating table which nearly worked at Instabul.
He was wrong, and hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are now dead because of it. But Im not the one who is litterally on the side of Nazis.
I got to witness Zelensky give multiple standing ovations to a literal Waffen SS officer in Parliament. Remember thats who you are cheering for.

I guess you're saying Putin is an idiot for thinking his army could take a city of 3 million in a few days. I agree with you on that!
