In covering Covid-19 for well over a year, few news reports on the pandemic have have shaken me to the core as much as this one, screened Wednesday evening on BBC News at Ten in the UK.

Everyone should watch this very distressing report on the rapidly-deteriorating situation in Delhi. It is absolutely heartbreaking.

“Covid-19 has hit this country with a ferocity not seen before...but not unexpected either." Incredible reporting by the BBC's Yogita Limaye. It also goes the show the danger of declaring victory of this virus prematurely....

Separately, the BBC reported Thursday that India has recorded the highest one-day tally of new Covid-19 cases anywhere in the world - and the country's highest number of deaths over 24 hours. It has close to 16 million confirmed cases, second only to the US. It recorded some 314,835 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, while deaths rose by 2,104.

**WARNING - this is a very distressing report
