Dear readers of World Briefing. Thank you for your support of my daily update + analysis of major headlines of the day.
From time to time, I produce in-depth written or taped analysis for paid supporters of this newsletter. Today from Thailand - on their festive New Year - I delve into the continuing whiplash economic policy-making of the Contortionist-in-Chief, Donald Trump - who’s just exempted smartphone, computers and other electronics from his punishing tariffs. It would’ve taken a huge toll on the Tech Bros and doubtless, considerable pressure came from these Trump backers to change the levies.
I also go further into the Times of London interview with Trump envoy, Keith Kellogg, and his reported statements on the partitioning of Ukraine - specifically why no Ukrainian president could ever sign such a deal.
A Thai Songkran (New Year) greetings seems particularly appropriate during these troubled times…..
