I wish commentators on the Ukraine war would simply ignore Trump. His utterances seem meaningless given the rate at which he changes his mind, and his general lack of interest in anything beyond himself.
What we should be focused on is developing a strategy for VICTORY over the Russians which does not depend upon the US. If Trump makes some contribution, great, then we can applaud him. But we should be assuming he won't be helpful, and charting a course to VICTORY on that basis.
A place to begin would be for EU leaders to come together before the microphones to make the simplest statement.
"We are going to defeat Russia. We are going to win!'
If WWII had been managed the way WWIII has been managed so far by everyone other than the Ukrainians, our children and grandchildren would all be Nazis.
